whew...glad that's over with

This morning, I woke early, grabbed my passport and traveled to a foreign land - the land of GRE. What I saw there cannot be disclosed, but I can tell you this: I got a 740 on the verbal and a 640 on quantitative. By the mercy of God, this is better than I expected. The essays I'll have to wait on, of course, but I think they met the ETS criteria. They were long, had a structure (tell them what you'll tell them, etc.), used vocabulary & specific examples, and used marker words like "therefore" and "furthermore." I did get a ticket for parking in Brookline without paying (I was out of change when I was racing to the test center), but I think $25 is a small price to pay for not having to take the test again when I had more change. 3 1/2 hours of parking...
