I was thinking again this morning of the paradoxes of our culture and of how we have made it easier to be unhealthy than healthy, easier to destroy the environment rather than to be a part of it. I was wondering how we could take organic living out of the province of the elite and make it accessible to everybody. I am looking for affordable sustainability....

What I love about knowing Christ is that it is not the work of a moment, but of a life. Always when I think I know what it means to be justified, to leave off my idea of whom I am & accept God's declaration of me as a restored sinner, beloved son, I am struck once again with how little I know. Always I am struck by how much I still hold on to. Lord, I would break myself to let your grace fall like rain....

This man is my new hero. What this means for my politics I haven't figured out yet. Relatedly, I recommend y'all read Dark Ages America. The author thinks there's no hope for our country, or our culture. As a Christian, I find it hard to be that bleak. I'm still looking for the (a?) radical middle. Because it makes President Nielson looks ridiculous. Now I've spoken with him before at cross-country dinners and such, and so am convinced that he is a real human being. But you wouldn't know it from this video. The merchandising of Covenant - it can't mean good things for the college's future....
