it's all a waiting game from here on out

So earlier today BU sent me an official email confirming that all my grad school application materials are in. The committee will start reviewing them after Feb. 1. Now all I have to do is wait - well, and write a 2000 word magazine article tonight. But I know what I want to say, so I shouldn't have to stay up too late to do that....

finished my application essays - so happy right now

I finally did it; I finally came up with a version of my application essays that I was not only happy with, but proud of. (And now that I'm done with that, I'll dangle any modifier that I please.) Now there is also a 2000-word magazine article that I'm supposed to have written by Jan. 31 about Technology in Youth Ministry, but I can't into the spirit of writing that right now. I think Monday will be my day to hammer out a draft of that, although I may dribble out somewhat of an outline later tonight. Just need to print these beasts out, pick up my last reference letter, and I am done with this application process....

discovered a new Boston radio station yesterday

Yesterday I tuned my car radio dial to 90.3, a station I'd previously received only intermittently. They have an interesting format - about a half-and-half mix of musiqué concréte and free jazz/fusion, at least from what I've heard so far. Clanging gongs, chiming clocks, keyboard solos. I remember talking with someone about the station when I was at the Architecture in Helsinki show a few months back. He said it came out of Boston College, I believe, which would explain the fade in the signal. But with the kind of music (sound?) they play it doesn't really matter; the static sounds like part of the composition....
